Proper Russian

I have an MA in linguistics, and work as a journalist and copywriter. My job allows me to combine my theoretical knowledge of linguistics with practical work experience.

I studied communicative linguistics and rhetoric at Altai State University. While completing my studies, I worked for one of the companies as a PR manager.This position gave me many good opportunities to test linguistical and rhetorical theories in action. I practiced copywriting and observed real processes of business communication. My master’s thesis was written on the basis of business negotiation recorded in the company I was working in.

I have been a freelancer since 2003. I worked as an independent consultant for BISNIS (Business Information Service for Newly Independent States, US Department of Commerce), where I prepared analytic overviews of the economics of the Altai Territory (you may see my reports on BISNIS website). I also worked for PC Topp, a German software company, which hired me to translate manuals, letters and offers from English into Russian and from Russian into English. I helped the company’s representatives to communicate with Russian customers.

I write and edit promotional texts, translate advertisements and business documents, and write articles for Russian magazines. My subject matter is mainly IT and computer science oriented.
